A real-life Dick Dasterdly and Penelope Pitstop will be making an appearance at the Festival of Speed this year.
Fully-working replicas of the car-toon series have been built for the FoS and have proved popular with children over the last ten years.
This year, Penelope Pitstop's Compact Pussycat, the Slag Brothers ' Boulder Mobile and Dick Dasterdly's Mean Machine joined Professor Pat Pending, Peter Perfect and the team on a tour around Brighton the first time they've been driven on public roads.
The complete set of Wacky Races cars and characters will be displayed on purpose-built desert set located on the Brighton cricket pitch at the south side of the Festival of Speed.
