BMW, Toyota jointly develop a sports car


Toyota, BMW to cooperate on new sports car.
BMW and Toyota Motor Corp. said Friday it is developing a sports car together and cooperate in the technology of fuel cells, the electrification of engine technology and lightweight.

BMW, Norbert Reithofer, chairman of Toyota, Akio Toyoda, has signed an initial agreement on the BMW headquarters in Munich, extend to a long-term strategic partnership between the two automakers.

"Toyota and BMW will share the same strategic vision of sustainable mobility in the future individual. Together we have a great opportunity to continue to lead the industry through this transition," said Norbert Reithofer said in a statement.


In March, BMW and Toyota agree with BMW in the investigation of lithium-ion battery in exchange for a steady supply of work for BMW diesel engines manufactured from 2014.
