• Roomier version of fashionable city car
• Debuts at Geneva Motor Show in March
• On sale late 2012
Fiat has released details of its latest model, the Fiat 500L.
Joining the convertible and performance oriented Abarth versions; the 500L is the fourth model in the 500 line-up.
Essentially the 500L is a larger, roomier version of the hatchback version, in a similar style to the Mini Countryman. Fiat claims it will offer the passenger space of an MPV and the feel of a 4×4 on the road, whilst maintaining the diminutive dimensions and efficient, responsive engines which make the normal 500 such a capable city car.
Initially it will be available with two petrol engines, including a 1.4-litre and a version of Fiat’s award winning TwinAir motor, and also a 1.3-litre turbodiesel.
The 500L will be making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6, before going on sale in Europe in the last quarter of 2012.
